Vuma My Community Connects (Vuma MCC) has dominated the concept of community and champions its’ power. Vuma MCC wanted to empower creatives, entrepreneurs, and just general dominators, who want to take over the world with their unique set of talents. Helping them do their thing, their own way, and create a community of like-minded go-getters.

They had a general idea of how they wanted to help these industrious entrepreneurs and the relevant sectors involved, but they weren’t sure how this concept would go to market.

Whichever shape this concept took, it had to showcase talent, provide opportunities for discovery and booking, facilitate collaboration among creatives, grant access to exclusive workshops and events, help users build their network, and offer tools to help them dominate their field.

To achieve our objectives, we first designed and developed a fully functional content aggregation platform where prospective subscribers could upload their profiles and start gaining income from collaborations and bookings.​

Once that was achieved, we communicated the power of community by profiling our first brand ambassador, Cape Town musician, Jimmy Nevis. In this heartwarming video series, Jimmy Nevis takes the viewer through the community that shaped him and made him the artist he is now. In doing so, creating awareness and driving consumers to the platform, using various PR channels such as social media, radio and podcasts. To further create buzz, we rolled out a series of social media campaigns encouraging potential subscribers to sign up and showcase their talents.

In the year and a few months since the website went live, the Vuma MCC platform received 64, 000 visitors and to date has, 611 registered profiles. The signed-up talent received increased exposure, and subsequently more opportunities. Taking over their industries, one opportunity at a time. As of 2023, the platform has seen a 700% increase in profile form fill-ins and a 79% increase in registration form fills. The success of the project is a testament to the platform’s effective marketing strategies, user-friendly design, and valuable services, and it highlights the growing demand for online talent platforms.
